Filmshop is proud to present its annual short film extravaganza. All films were made expressly for the event and inspired by a unifying idea.
This year’s theme: Shhhhh!
We screened about 20 films by Filmshop members, who have responded to the theme in interesting and diverse ways. Filmmakers include Dane Benko, Nathan Breton, Adam R Brown, Michael DeMinico, Don Downie, Rhett DuPont, Josh Freed, Jaclyn Gramigna, Josh Granger, Nicholas Heet, Jason Hood, Danny Kim, Stacey Maltin, Hillary Nussbaum, Brittany Prater, Rebecca Senn, Suneet Sethi, Heather Taylor, Maxine Trump, and Tanmaya Shekhar.
In keeping with the theme, the night's festivities included a block of silent films live-scored by Brooklyn band Elxclub, a series of silent dance performances in Rough Trade's record store curated by local arts incubator The Creators Collective, and a live performance from BK dream punks Painted Zeros. With DJ Phil Painson of BUILTCITY. Plus, a screaming booth!
There was also a silent auction with prizes generously donated by our sponsors below. There were prizes for the filmmaker and the film lover alike, including full-day access to studio space, coaching sessions with Management for Millennials and Seed and Spark, and an iPad Mini.
