JULIE KLINE

Julie is a multidisciplinary storyteller—actor, director, screenwriter, and personal essayist—raised in Oakland, California, and now based in New York City.
Her theater work spans international tours of world-premiere plays and community-based performances that elevate personal narratives. Recent development/directing credits include MAGDALEN at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and on U.S. tour; THE IMMIGRANTS at Lyth Arts Centre, Scotland; RAISING JO at Theater Row; BOMBSHELL OF RHYTHM at Soho Playhouse; and JANE at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, featuring Cynthia Nixon, Ana Gasteyer, and Kathy Najimy.
Julie is the creator of SENIORS AND THE CITY, an oral history theater project, supported by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs and Department for the Aging. Her writing includes the personal essay DEAR SANDRA AND RAY (published by A is For), the play BACKYARD (developed at Rattlestick), and the screenplay SNUGGLES (quarterfinalist, The Writers Lab)
She is an inaugural Victor/Weiss Fund recipient from the Brooklyn Arts Council and a graduate of The Theatre School at DePaul University.
