GINNY LEISE

Ginny Leise is a prolific creator and filmmaker. Born and raised in New Jersey mere minutes from the Cherry Hill Mall, Ginny spent her childhood besting the neighborhood boys. Once, while proving she was faster than all of them, she ran full speed into a parked car. She lost two front teeth and won the race. After graduating from Colorado College with a B.A. in History & Philosophy, Ginny took the next logical step and moved to New York City to pursue filmmaking.
In 2015, Ginny wrote and produced her first short film, Pillows. It was an official selection of New Filmmakers and won a Best of Fest award at Indieworks. The following year, she co-wrote and produced Urban Teach Now. The comedy pilot was an 2016 Official Selection at the New York Television Festival, iTVFest and a third round finalist for the Sundance Episodic Story Lab in 2017. In 2016 she also wrote and produced, Smile, a horror short with a political twist. Brokelyn described it as “maybe the best horror film AND Hillary campaign video of the year”.
Ginny made her directorial debut in 2017 with the web series Quiet Tiny Asian. The series racked up 150,000 views on YouTube. In 2018, Ginny directed and produced the pilot Vows, winning Best Pilot at both the DC Independent Film Festival and NYC Web Fest. Most recently, Ginny directed the horror comedy short Adventure Date! shot on 16mm. She is currently writing and developing her first feature film.
