New Yorker Andrea Ashton is an award-winning filmmaker with four short films, including one archived with the Academy, and two TV and web pilots that have garnered numerous awards, critical love, and thousands of YouTube views. Her latest endeavor, the short film “Greater Good”, was part of the inaugural Women’s Weekend Film Challenge in New York City, made with no money and all volunteers. Despite the lack of time, resources, and personnel, it’s being embraced by film festivals across the continent. 

Andrea has several feature films in development including a finalist for the Film Independent Screenwriting Lab, as well as multiple screenwriting competitions. Having recently come off a month of shadowing multiple directors on the FOX television series “Gotham”, she also has eyes on directing episodic. A member of Cinefemme and NYC Women Filmmakers, she’s an active proponent of bringing more female voices to the screen.
