Simone Hile-Bassett is a writer and director based in Queens, New York, originally from Bloomington, Indiana. In her independent projects she is drawn to interrogating the limits of word and images, the encroachment of and reliance on technology in the body as a transgender person, and the feeling of otherness that comes with being a two-spirit individual in 21st century America. Her work often juxtaposes supernatural and sci-fi elements with minimalist storytelling techniques to create a realistic yet unfamiliar world around the characters.
