Rebecca Israel most recently completed directing/filming/editing a short documentary, Paper View: a day in the life of cardboard, for BRIC’s Brooklyn Free Speech.  She spent the past decade working in all phases of production for HBO, PBS, Sundance Channel, Comedy Central, and NBCU after receiving a B.A. in Media and Cultural Studies from Eugene Lang College: The New School for Liberal Arts.

Rebecca is passionate about researching models of education and exploring what “success” means to various cultures.  In 2014, Rebecca spent seven months in Uganda filming for Vocativ, USAID, and several organizations.  She is currently developing a non-fiction children’s series about multicultural America.  

Rebecca is originally from Chicago and a midwesty at heart.
