RAVEN CRANE

Writer, Director, Production Designer

Raven Crane is a gender non-conforming black femme queer director who lives for the unearthing and invention of black queer and supremely femme narratives in scenes and times when and where those stories are often ignored, forgotten, discarded, written and spoken out of existence. Through research, stories passed down, and their own experience they bring queer black cinema back into the realm of existence, thus allowing their story and that of their righteously queer punk unapologetically black ancestors and elders to resurface. Raven Crane is originally from Houston, Texas, but has spent their young adult years in New Orleans, LA. Like all folk of the African diaspora, storytelling and music excel their work forward and feels like their birthright. Their latest short feature narrative “HxC Kids’ is in the pre-production stages and set to be shot in late April.
