KATE COOK

Storyteller , Brand Development

Kate Cook is a brand development leader whose mission-driven career is dedicated to creating positive change in the world through story. Her over 15 years of experience as a brand strategist, marketer and content creator spans multiple verticals including entertainment, consumer products, retail, technology and sustainability.

Over the past six years Kate held a leadership role at A+E Networks, a global media and entertainment company known for its diverse slate of content across multiple platforms. Leading several teams within the organization, Kate was responsible for launching and guiding successful digital initiatives and emerging business ventures.  During her tenure as the Consumer Marketing Lead for The HISTORY Channel, Kate played a pivotal role in driving viewership to essential content that delved into the realities of the past, shedding light on the present. Her efforts at HISTORY not only boosted viewership but also effectively preserved the brands integrity in the face of a challenged television market.

Before A+E, Kate held a senior marketing position at Participant Media where she drove social change via content marketing, working in partnership with giants such as Intel and Disney. As a brand strategist at Saatchi & Saatchi, she built first-to-market employee engagement and consumer marketing programs for clientele including Walmart, General Mills, and Procter & Gamble.

 At the cusp of the new technological revolution, Kate is currently studying Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at Caltech to help shape an ethical technological future for our world.

 Kate was a founding member of Filmshop, and is excited to continue her journey with the organization. She lives in South Pasadena with her husband, two daughters, and 14-year-old terrier named after her favoritepainter, Francis Bacon.
