Jessica W. Chen is a New York City-based Taiwanese American television writer, actress, and producer. Originally from Rockville, MD, Jess’s work combines Western and Asian media and culture to explore themes of identity and love. In May 2022, she graduated with an MFA in Writing and Producing for Television from LIU Brooklyn.

Jess is best known for DRAMA HIGH, a love letter to Asian dramas told through an Asian American perspective featuring a drama fan who uses her knowledge of drama tropes as a cheat code to high school, and THE LEGEND OF THE CHOW CHOW HEROES, a superhero TV pilot about four teens who realize they are reincarnated Chinese mythological figures.

Recently, Chow Chow Heroes won Quarter-Finalist at ISA’s 2023 Emerging Screenwriters Genre Screenplay Competition, and made Coverfly’s THE RED LIST, while Drama High was accepted as a Quarter-Finalist for the 2023 Women's Weekend Film Challenge Pilot Accelerator.
