Eavvon O'Neal

Writer, Director, Editor

Eavvon O'Neal is a Philadelphia-born and Brooklyn, NY-based filmmaker. Initially rooted in music documentaries, his passion for storytelling and experimenting straddles fiction and non-fiction. His short film Mister Backlash premiered in competition at the New Hampshire film fest in 2022. Also a talented editor, the most striking examples of that specific set of skills shine in the documentary #Loveyourz for director Nick Bentgen, M.I.D. Notes for director Janice Lagata, and several collaborations with director Annalise Lockhart. He’s cut multiple series for Vox, Netflix, and Complex in addition to creating and directing the web series Selector and Vintage Shopping for Pitchfork and Complex Networks respectively. All of his works explore the various narratives of black life, with the hopes of finding a space where critique and entertainment can co-exist. Ultimately, he hates talking in the third person, but apparently, that's a thing people do on the internet.
