Amen Igbinosun

Amen Igbinosun is the middle of seven children. He was born in Benin City, Nigeria and immigrated to America as a child where he was raised in Rahway, NJ. Amen obtained a full football scholarship to play for the Fordham University Rams. As a student he acted, directed and produced a number of plays and founded Fordham’s Black Theatre Project, an organization dedicated to uplifting and celebrating works by Black artist.

Amen received his MFA from Harvard University/ American Repertory Theatre's Acting program where he studied abroad at the Moscow Art Theatre. After graduating Harvard, Amen moved to NYC where he produced plays for The Classical Theatre of Harlem and taught acting workshops for New York City public housing. Amen was then cast in Michael Bay’s hit TV show The Last Ship. Between seasons, Amen played a supporting role in the History Channel miniseries Texas Rising opposite Bill Paxton and Ray Liotta. Following that he was cast in Tina Fey's multicamera comedy pilot The Kicker.

Upon the completion of the series The Last Ship, Amen directed the Hollywood Fringe Festival award winning play Fort Huachuca and associate produced the short film Imitations, written and directed by Kay Oyegun. Amen currently heads the Acting Emphasis at Columbia College Hollywood and is a professor at California State University Los Angeles.
