JULIA ELIZABETH EVANS
Writer, Director
I’m on this working concept— “Filmmaker-Thinker.” When writing a screenplay about a tragically repressed romance between a Nazi Captain and his P.O.W. or a stubborn teenager turned female outlaw in rural Arkansas, I am guided by the ways films can affect new ways of thinking about things.
I’ve received artist-grants from The Andy Warhol Foundation, New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation, Create Louisiana, The New Orleans Film Society, and various other foundations.
In 2019, I am returning home to Arkansas. Once back home, I will work with Markham Park Studio as the writer/director of a short narrative based on the true crime novel, “Daughter of the White River: Depression-Era Treachery and Vengeance in the Arkansas Delta” by Denise Parkinson. other foundations.
