EMILY SHESKIN

Writer/Director / Editor

Emily Sheskin is a director and editor who has worked on award-winning documentaries, TV specials and advertising campaigns. Her work has been featured in numerous publications such as (but not limited to) The New York Times, National Geographic, and The Atlantic. She was also named one of the 10 groundbreaking women in film to watch in 2017 by Vimeo.

Most recently, her film on Jesselyn Silva premiered on the New York Times as part of the sixth season of OpDocs. From there, the film played at the IFC, LES Film Festival, and played as a BAMcinématek curated short during August with Brooklyn Bridge Park's "Movies With A View".

Emily holds a BFA from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and is a member of New York Women in Film & Television, The FilmShop, Film Fatales, and IFP. She currently works at Firstborn in New York City. She dreams of one day being able to have a bio that simply reads, "Emily likes cats." and still get hired.
