Writer, Director, Production Designer
Miranda Morris is a screenwriter/director, production designer, visual artist and and multi-instrumentalist originally from rural Ontario, Canada. She received her BFA in film production from Ryerson University in 2011 and was awarded distinctions in production design and directing. After graduating, Miranda worked in the industry as an independent designer and occasional assistant director for independent film/TV and web series projects, as well as art department work in the commercial world in Toronto.
She has split her time between Ontario and New Orleans but now is a year-round resident of the Crescent City, where she is developing a feature-length narrative film project while also playing trombone in a couple of local music groups and expanding her body of work as an illustrator. She enjoys the storytelling aspects of filmmaking and has a passion for stylized tales of adventure, period pieces, and magical realism.
Fluent in French and English, Miranda is interested in the shared cultural roots of the Canadian Maritimes and Acadian Louisiana, and is inspired by natural and architectural aesthetics of the North and South alike.
