Kamal Badhey is an educator, photographer, and documentarian interested in venturing into the land of film. At Filmshop she hopes to work on projects related to education activism. She is a member of the South Asian Women's Creative Collective and the Urban Photographers Association.
Kamal graduated with a Masters in Photography and Urban Cultures, Goldsmiths, University of London and Museum Education from Bank Street College. Her re-constructed family album, Portals and Passageways, which traces her jeweler ancestors in Secunderabad, India has been exhibited both internationally and locally.
Kamal was a 2016-2017 Lewis Hine fellow at the Center for Documentary Studies. Currently she is in love with teaching beginners photography and is currently an educator at the Bronx Documentary Center, Parsons School of Design, and the Center for Documentary Studies, Duke University.
