GRACE e. KIM
Writer, Producer, Director
GRACE KIM is a Korean-American Brooklyn-based filmmaker who uses absurdist and surrealist elements as tools to explore characters' emotions and psychology in storytelling. Grace has written and directed four short films, and is in development for an animated TV series about climate change that has a Cinemax producer attached as the EP and passed into the second round for the Sundance Episodic Lab.
She is currently the 2019 Picture Farm Commercial Director Mentee and was part of the EMERGE8 Semi Finalists for Ghetto Film School’s EMERGE Filmmaking Lab. Her script for her 2018 short Loveseat was a quarterfinalist for the Screen Craft Short Film Fund and the script for Fissure: noun and verb (then titled One-handed Cartwheel) was a finalist for the Cascadia International Women’s Film Festival Script Studio.
Grace is deeply committed to her independent film communities and practices her craft through her membership in Filmshop, Brooklyn Film Collective Writers, and the Sandbox. She has previously worked on staff at New York Women in Film and Television.
