ALEJANDRO DE LOS RIOS

Writer, Director, Editor

I’m just your run-of-the-mill half Cuban-Venezuelan writer and filmmaker who was raised outside Washington D.C., studied writing at Ithaca College and then worked as a freelance journalist where I was published in national outlets including ESPN the Magazine, VICE, the Associated Press and Deadspin. Since 2009, I’ve written and directed short documentaries, commercials and music videos and created content for Warner Brothers, MGM, A&E Networks, ESPN, McCann Erickson and Toshiba International.

I was awarded "Best Editing" and "Best Sound Design" for my entry in the 2016 “48 Hour Film Fest.” In 2017, my short film 'Jalapeño Andretti' premiered at Lafayette's Cinema on the Bayou Film Festival and I took part in the New Orleans Film Festival's ‘Emerging Voices’ program.

I then worked as a Video Producer for the New Orleans Saints and Pelicans creating digital content including a 9-part documentary on Drew Brees and short features on New Orleans music and culture.
