Adel Ben Bella
Director, Cinematographer, Editor
Adel Ben Bella is a filmmaker who was born in Algeria, spent his youth in Paris, and moved to New York to attend Columbia University's graduate film program. Through fiction and documentary, he explores how environments affect intimate relationships and shape the individuals' sense of their own identity.
Adel has directed several award-winning short films (‘2 Songs’, ‘Sleepwalker’) and screened internationally (Clermont-Ferrand, Aix-en-Provence, Monterrey, Aarhus). He is currently developing a feature-length documentary that begins as an exploration of an Indian school in the holy city of Varanasi, travels to an ashram in Varanasi and Sonoma and becomes a journey inside the lives of three men seeking meaning in the later stages of their existence.
